Ribbon cutting for U.S. Census Bureau office in Jackson

Jackson, TN – The U.S. Census Bureau office in Jackson will have an open house event from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, January 13 at 1124 Whitehall St. The program is open to the public and will include a ribbon cutting.

The event will help promote the Census by reminding residents to complete and mail back their census forms, which will be sent out in March.

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years. The 2010 Census will help communities receive more than $400 billion in federal funds for things like schools, hospitals, job training centers, senior centers, emergency services, and road maintenance.

For more information, contact Tom Aud, Jackson’s local Census Bureau office manager, at (731) 256-3462.
