Pinnacle Awards
The annual Pinnacle Awards recognize top area businesses based on history, growth, community involvement, employee satisfaction and customer service. It is an occasion to honor the nominees and winners that are outstanding business leaders that also represent our community. They are symbols of those in this region that place hard work as a top priority in their companies. Companies large and small are commended for the their efforts in making our community more prosperous.
The Pinnacle Awards program is coordinated and implemented by a volunteer committee of dedicated Chamber members.
Several Pinnacle Awards have been established to appropriately judge and give recognition to those that are deserving of an award. Awards are given in two different categories- product-related or service-oriented. The competition is broken into groups based on the number of employees. The winners will have been in business for at least five years and the owner or primary decision maker residing in Madison or a contiguous county.
The awards to be announced will include the Cornerstone Award, Stepping Stone Award and the Pinnacle Awards.
- The Cornerstone Award is the top business excellence award given to a locally owned company that has operated in Madison County, or a contiguous county, for more than 20 years.
- The Stepping Stone Award is a business excellence award given to a locally owned company that has operated in Madison County, or a contiguous county, for five to 20 years.
- The Pinnacle Awards are given in two different categories- product–related or service-oriented- and the competition is broken into groups based on the number of employees. The winners are businesses that have operated for five or more years with the owner or primary decision-maker residing in Madison or a contiguous county.
The Chamber also recognizes five local companies that have been in business less than five years and who are actively positioning themselves for growth and success.
- The Emerging Business Award winners are also a part of the recognition program by the Chamber. They are recognized at a luncheon each year.
New for 2008, the Pinnacle Awards included award categories for non-profit organizations and industry.
All nominations will be acknowledged by letter, requesting responses specific to the Pinnacle Award(s) for which the business is eligible. The information is reviewed by out-of-town judges, and winners are announced at the awards ceremony.
The recipients of the Pinnacle Awards receive a beautiful crystal and cherry wood award. The Pinnacle represents the spirit of enterprise and the common thread found in all business ventures. The cherry wood base signifies the foundations of excellence set by all successful businesses.

“B for Business has been one of the best networking opportunities since I started my business. It’s a great place to meet both new and well-established businesses in the Jackson area. The guest speakers are informative in their area of business. Best of all, there’s free coffee and food in the morning!”
“Being a volunteer for the Chamber has opened enumerable doors for me in the business community. As a volunteer, I have been able to connect with many other business leaders. The Chamber has also given me visibility and exposure that I would not have with any other volunteer opportunity. The Chamber encourages this exposure for their volunteers, making it a win-win situation.”
