Augustine School is a Christian and classical school offering an education that is biblically-based, gospel-centered and classically informed.

Jackson Christian School
Jackson Christian School, affiliated with the Churches of Christ, serves more than 1,000 students from preschool through grade 12 and is open to all religions. The mission of the school is to lead students to love God by providing the opportunity for a quality, values-oriented education in a Christian environment.

  • All students attend daily Bible class and chapel assembly and are exposed to many leadership opportunities.

Jackson Preparatory School

Jackson Preparatory School focuses on academics in an affordable, secure traditional values setting. The mission of the school is to prepare students to develop leadership skills and become responsible citizens capable of analyzing the world and making sound decisions. The school, established in 2007, has 220 students.

  • Character education is incorporated into the school's curriculum.
  • Jackson Prep offers free before and after school care, and limited homework.
  • Football and basketball programs are currently offered, with cross-country and volleyball coming soon.

The Montessori Center of Jackson

The Montessori Center of Jackson, founded in 1990, serves students from preschool through grade 6. The mission of the center is to

provide with care high quality education for young children using the Montessori method. It offersa cozy, small educational setting where children are nurtured and encouraged to experience the joy of learning.

  • The school offers a half day morning program five days a week for children ages 3-6 years.
  • Kindergarten children experience an extended half day program until 2 p.m. Early childhood children may also stay until 2 p.m.
  • The school is affiliated with the American Montessori Society.
  • The school offers a variety of programs for children age 3 to 6th grade.

Sacred Heart of Jesus High School
Sacred Heart of Jesus High School provides a traditional, Catholic, academically challenging college-preparatory curriculum.

St. Mary's Catholic
St. Mary's, Jackson's oldest private school, offers a Catholic education  in grades kindergarten through eighth.

  • The strong, academic-based curriculum of reading, language arts, science, math and history is enhanced by religious instruction and art, music, computer and physical education programs.
  • The school is owned by St. Mary's Parish, administered by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, and is open to students of any religion, race, or gender.
  • St. Mary's is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is subject to the Diocese of Memphis Catholic Schools Office.

Trinity Christian Academy
Trinity is an interdenominational Christian school with an enrollment of 1523 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

  • Class size is limited to 22 students per class.
  • Curriculum is Christ-centered. Honors track and AP courses are offered in the high school and individualized to students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • The school is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
  • Trinity is a member of TSSAA and offers a full sports program.

University School of Jackson
USJ's college-preparatory curriculum offers preschool through the 12th grade.

  • The Upper School offers both Honors and Advanced Placement courses. One hundred percent of USJ's graduates meet college-entrance requirements.
  • USJ offers an extensive fine arts program and leadership opportunities.
  • The maximum number of students in the primary grades is 22 per classroom.
  • The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. For athletics, the school is a member of TSSAA.

West Tennessee School for the Deaf

West TN School for the Deaf opened in the fall of 1986 as a state elementary school for children who were deaf or hearing impaired.

  • The school serves children ages 2-13 from throughout West TN.
  • The school has an average annual enrollment of 55.
  • The school is an agency of The TN Department of Education, Division of Special Schools.
  • The curriculum of WTSD is designed to meet the individual needs of the students by emphasizing language development, speech and listening skills. Clasroom teachers follow the TN Curriculum Standards for instruction.
