Jerry Gist first worked with the City of Jackson in 1977, where he began as executive director of the Jackson Recreation and Parks Department. He was promoted to executive director of Public Works by Jackson Mayor Charles Farmer in 1991. His duties included administration of parks and recreation, public facilities, street, planning, engineering, health and sanitation, and building and codes departments. Gist holds a master's degree in public administration and a bachelor of arts degree in education. He is also a graduate of the Harvard School of Government. He is a U.S. Army veteran, is married and has two children and two grandchildren. He was sworn in as Madison County Mayor on Sept. 1, 2002, and as Mayor of the City of Jackson on May 8, 2007. |

He has been in the real estate development and management business in Jackson since 1987. Harris holds a bachelor's degree in engineering technology from Memphis State University, He was appointed as Madison County Mayor by the Madison County Commission on and sworn in July 1, 2007. |

Matthew Kisber of Economic and Community Development Matthew H. Kisber was appointed commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development by Gov. Phil Bredesen on Jan. 18, 2003. Prior to this appointment, Kisber served 10 consecutive terms in the state House of Representatives and as vice president of Business Development for First Tennessee Bank. In the Tennessee General Assembly, Kisber served as chairman of the Finance, Ways and Means Committee, which is responsible for the state's $19.5 billion budget. He received state and national acclaim for his leadership, developing innovative solutions to a wide range of budgetary and business development challenges. Kisber received his bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and began his career as a successful small businessman in Jackson, Tenn. Kisber and his wife Paige Lowe Kisber reside in Nashville with their son, Harrison. |
