Wage Information

The area's pro-business environment often is the reason cited for a company's decision to expand or locate in Jackson. According to a survey of industry conducted by the Wadley-Donovan group of Morristown, N.J. Highlights of this positive environment include:

  • Tennessee is a right-to-work state.

  • Favorable labor/management conditions mean nearly all of Madison County's employers operate without union participation.  A well-managed facility should have no fear of being organized by a union.

    •  No state laws have been added to the provisions of the American with Disabilities Act.

    • No state plant closing statutes are stricter than U.S. law.
